Baby Safety at home.

What is baby safety? It’s keeping our little ones as safe as we can, either in the home or out and about. Did you know that nearly 70% of the children who die from unintentional injuries at home are 4 years old and under. Household injuries are one of the top reasons kids under age 3 visit the the emergency room. Young kids have the highest risk of being injured at home because that’s where they spend most of their time.

Children are curious, especially from the time they begin to crawl, they want to touch everything, pick at anything, pull, drag…….. and its totally normal, children love to explore especially when they are in the home, they like to see whats around them and then they make their move. Being curious is a good thing, I know for parents it can be frustrating and annoying when your kids are pulling at everything, but trust me being curious and exploring is a good thing.

As parents we just need to make sure we have our house completely babyproofed. Although it may be frustrating when the baby is dragging out of everything but lets be honest we have a huge responsibility to play once baby can move on their own, we have to baby proof practically everything, and yes you might not want these funny looking products around your home but for the  safety of your children and your own sanity isn’t it worth it?

Prevention is the key…… Be prepared, you can NEVER over baby proof the house, trust me babies are smart they can figure out more t
han we imagine they can, if they can find a way they will!!!!!! So be extra cautious when baby proofing the home, don’t take any short cuts.  If your going to do it, isn’t it better to do it right?door-lock__64697.1467722394.1280.1280

There is so many things we can do now to baby proof the house, straps, locks, gadgets etc and they do work a treat. Its a small investment that will make your life a lot easier in the long run.  You won’t have that worry in your mind when you just fly to the toilet. Or if you were like me for 2 years bringing the baby with you to the toilet incase he/she got her hands on something…….. (bad bad habit) if the house is baby proofed you don’t need to do this.

BABYDAN_FURNITURE_STRAPS_2S__99062.1454941037.1280.1280I have completely baby proofed my home and I can honestly say I feel so much better, Im not afraid or worried, I’m now at ease and its  a good feeling knowing your children are safe. I left it longer than I should have and as you can see from the pic of my son Xavier he got his hands on the sudocream 🙁 but t was totally my fault as I clearly left this in an unsafe place and somewhere he could reach.

Obviously accidents happen and thats completely normal but I think if we can prevent as much as we can then why not, at the end of the day we brought these children into the world the last thing any parent wants is their little once coming in screaming and crying because they fell.

I baby proofed my house and got all my products from babydan_window_lock_1__69955.1467722392.386.513www.babysafety.ie, I’m delighted with them, next day delivery and easy to ensemble. 😉 see link below

Also a little trick I did was I got the children involved, so when I was spitting up the stair gates and the straps onto the cupboards I made it fun, I told them this was a new game that they has to help me assemble all of the gifts that the fairy’s sent to us to keep our house extra safe. They loved this, this illuminated them trying to drag and drag out of the drawers, of course they tried but thebaby-dan-premier-60114-white-with-extension-mother-and-child__52713.1467722397.1280.1280n I would remind them that the fairy;s sent them to us and that we have to listen to the fairy;s  😉
